A day in the life
Road safety is a top priority for everyone on the road, and it is crucial to make sure that all drivers in Dubai are doing their part to keep our roads safe. That’s why The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai (RTA) and Dubai Police launched “#It_Can_Wait” campaign to promote safe driving habits and raise awareness about the dangers of reckless driving, because when it comes to their safety, it’s important for drivers to remember that everything else can wait.
Whether it’s a phone call, text message, or social media notification, these distractions can wait until they are safely off the road. It only takes a few seconds of distraction to cause a serious accident, so it’s crucial for drivers to prioritize their safety while driving. By staying focused on the road and avoiding distractions, they can help keep themselves and other drivers safe.
As motorcyclists are especially vulnerable on the road, they were given a major part in the campaign. That’s why the campaign focused on urging them to take extra precautions to ensure their safety, such as wearing a helmet, using turn signals, obeying traffic rules, and most importantly to avoid getting distracted or rushing to complete their jobs.
But it’s not just motorcycle riders who need to be responsible on the road. All drivers have a duty to drive safely and avoid dangerous behaviors, such as speeding, tailgating, and distracted driving. These actions can cause accidents that can result in serious injuries or even fatalities. To help promote road safety, we’ve created a series of educational videos, social media posts, and infographics that highlight the importance of safe driving practices.
